Dr. Andrew Sands: Hi I’m Dr. Sands. I’m one of the physicians here at ChiroCare [of Florida].

Today we’re going to be applying some electric stimulation to this patient’s neck area. And the reasons why we do this is to help reduce inflammation, decrease pain, try and relax the muscles by causing a contraction, and then fatiguing the muscle out enough so that it relaxes.

As you see once we start turning on the electric stimulation, the patient’s neck muscles will start to vibrate. That’s the electric stim that’s going into the neck. It doesn’t hurt. We bring it up to the patient’s tolerance. See now we can see a nice contraction, which is involuntary causing the muscle to contract and then relax.

How’s that feel?

Patient: Good
