Fit In Fort Lauderdale

After a visit with your chiropractor, you’re most likely leaving the office with the mindset of staying healthy, working on your wellness, and boosting physical activity to keep pain at bay. However, sometimes gym settings or traditional at-home workouts just aren’t appealing.

If you’re trying to work on your fitness in Fort Lauderdale, check out these ChiroCare of Florida approved fitness and recreation destinations.

Ann Herman Park

Where: 1760 SW 29th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312

Looking for a breezy spot to get your heart racing? Ann Herman Park is the place for you. Perfect for family-friendly fun, this park boasts an open pavilion, playground, swings, and concrete walking paths ideal for power walks or light jogs. Plus, the waterfront seating area is a picturesque spot to reflect on your day, decrease stress levels, and work on some seated stretches, like elbow pulls.

Bayview Park

Where: 4401 Bayview Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308
Open: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Cost: Free

Tired of feeling stuck in your cramped gym? Spread out on the 6.6 acres available at Bayview Park. Not only is there a full basketball court, there are also tennis courts and lighted athletic fields so that your fun doesn’t have to stop when the sun goes down. Want to bring the kids or grandkids? An open play area and playground sets the stage for a day of outdoor fitness, while a picnic area is a prime spot to unwind and share a meal with your family and friends.

Joseph C. Carter Park

Where: 1450 W. Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311
Open: 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Cost: Free

Open longer than many public parks, Carter Park provides hours of fitness from sunrise to long after sun down. Sports fans will love to utilize the park’s multiple basketball courts, gymnasium, lighted baseball and football fields, tennis courts, and racquetball courts. Take advantage of Carter Park’s track and field complex, as well as their walking/jogging trail that will be sure to keep those joints moving.

An open play area is complimented by a pool and water playground, so riled up little ones can cool down after a long day. Plus, a concession area and grill means that you don’t have to worry about heading home for dinner – stay right there at the park.

Holiday Park

Where: 1150 G. Harold Martin Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304
Open: 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Cost: Free

Pups need some fitness too! Holiday Park is one of Fort Lauderdale’s many public parks that actually offers a separate dog park, the Holiday Park Dog Park. A newer addition to this almost 94-acre park, the Dog Park is open daily from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. For those without dogs, enjoy the park’s activity center, fitness stations, and Jimmy Evert Tennis Center.

Where the park does offer basketball and tennis courts as well as football and baseball fields, it’s also complete with roller hockey rinks, shuffleboard courts, volleyball courts, bridge clubs, and even pickleball courts, so you can get active on any courts where you feel comfortable. A walking trail and open play area convinces us that if you need a day of recreation, Holiday Park should be your spot.

Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex

Where: 501 Seabreeze Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316
Open: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. | Saturday – Sunday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
