If you’re sick of needing to ask Google for “recreation near me,” you’ll be relieved to know that an abundance of fitness options are just steps away from your front door. Nestled along Lake Worth Lagoon and boasting a wide network of golf courses and outdoor parks, getting up and active couldn’t be any easier than in North Palm Beach.

Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course

Looking to unwind after a long week but don’t want to lounge around the house? The Jack Nicklaus Signature 18-hole golf course is now open for play after a 7-month renovation. The fresh greens now feature new grass throughout the entire course, ideal for perfecting your putt. Construction is underway for a brand new clubhouse that’s slated for late summer, but the driving range and pro shop are both still open.

Golfers can book a tee time online, or they can call (561) 691-3434. Be mindful that in order to schedule a tee time online, you must have your household ID and password handy.

North Palm Beach Pool

Come cool down at the North Palm Beach Pool. An L-shaped pool with six 50-meter lanes, this community favorite is also equipped with three kiddie pools, six 25-yard lanes, and a diving well with platforms. On-deck tiki hut rentals and a picnic area make the pool a perfect destination for a day with the family.

A competitive swim team, the North Palm Beach Swim Club, does operate out of the pool. Additionally, a water aerobics class is offered Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bear in mind, there is a $3 entry fee for residents and $5 fee for non-residents in addition to a $4 fee per swim class. The North Palm Beach Pool is open seven days of the week, however, pool hours are scheduled by the season.

North Palm Beach Tennis Center

Just a few feet from the community pool and golf course resides the North Palm Beach Tennis Center. The courts open every day at 8:00 a.m. and are open until 10 p.m, Monday through Thursday and until dark Friday through Sunday. However, the courts can be opened earlier or remain open later if you make a reservation.

The North Palm Beach Tennis Center is a public facility, meaning its programs are open to both residents and non-residents. Tennis programs such as children’s camps, private lessons, special events, and social play are available throughout the year. Court reservation is recommended as space can fill up quickly. Anchorage Park

Whether you’re looking to stay dry or get your feet wet, Anchorage Park has you covered. Home to two youth baseball fields, four sand volleyball courts, dog parks, a playground, and more, there’s plenty of land activities. However, the park also offers wet boat slips, dry boat storage, fishing, and boat launches (by permit only) for those who want to explore the water. Not to mention, picnic areas and the activities building let you snag a few moments in the shade as well.

Anchorage Park is the perfect spot for an afternoon or evening of fun. Just be mindful, the park is only open Monday through Friday.

Tai-Chi, Yoga, & Zumba

Looking for a workout that’s easy on the joints? The Anchorage Park Activities Building offers a variety of classes developed with every member of your family in mind. Some of the many ongoing classes include tai-chi, yoga, and Zumba.

Low-impact exercises like tai-chi and yoga are vigorous workouts that are gentle on the joints and perfect for beginners. True to its name, Lakeside Park has a spectacular view of the water. Complete with beach access, Lakeside Park also offers a sand volleyball court, basketball court, tiki hut picnic shelters, and a playground. Not to mention, the park is open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset. Lakeside Park is the perfect place to let the kids burn some energy after dinner, eat lunch with a view, or shoot some hoops with friends.

North Palm Beach Community Center

Speaking of shooting hoops, check out the North Palm Beach Community Center. Featuring three outdoor basketball courts, four lighted baseball fields, outdoor exercise stations, a 1/2-mile fitness trail, and a playground, there’s always something to do. For those practicing their swing, two batting cages are also available.

The Community Center is open Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. With a wide range of activities for young children, pre-teens and teens, and adults. There’s an activity for every member of the family.

Osborne Park

Looking to improve your baseball skills? Come on down to Osborne Park. This North Palm Beach facility is home to two lighted baseball fields and three batting cages to really up your game. For other sports lovers, Osborne Park also features two handball courts, two outdoor lighted basketball courts, four indoor basketball courts, a playground, and an activities building.

If you’d like to gather the gang for a game of baseball against another crew, just know that organized play on the ball-fields is for permitted North Palm Beach recreational leagues only. For availability or to certify your own team for the league, contact the Community Center at (561) 841-3389.

Fitness Over 50

Healthy has no age limit. Ready to get moving with your peers? Check out North Palm Beach’s Fitness Over 50 class. Designed with the older demographic in mind, this ongoing exercise class helps keep you in shape without adding those joint-swelling, muscle-aching workouts.
