Chiropractic care is typically synonymous with back adjustments. Many people do not know about the array of techniques and therapies offered until they schedule their first chiropractic appointment. The chiropractors at ChiroCare of Florida focus not only on the relief of symptoms, they also help create wellness plans so patients can maintain optimum health and prevent disease or injury. Using an array of chiropractic therapies, our experienced chiropractors can help you find pain relief while also focusing on overall health.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound therapy involves using ultrasound waves emitted through a round-headed wand that is placed directly onto the patient’s skin. Ultrasound gel is used to help assist in the transmission of ultrasound waves and to reduce friction. The frequency range can between 0.8-3.0MHz. Ultrasound therapy can increase muscle relaxation and blood flow, and help with pain relief. The frequency used will depend on the patient’s tolerance and may be increased as the patient adjusts to the therapy.

E-stim

Electrical stimulation therapy, or e-stim, helps reduce inflammation and pain, and relaxes the muscles by causing a contraction, and fatiguing the muscle so it relaxes. The treatment involves using electrical stimulation and mimicking the natural way the body exercises its muscles. E-stim can be used for pain relief, to prevent muscle atrophy, increase range of motion, and improve circulation.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Back adjustments may be used to decompress the spine and alleviate pain in the neck, back, and other parts of the body. Back adjustments may be used as part of an overall wellness routine or for pain relief. The adjustments can also improve mobility, reduce nerve irritation, and improve alignment and posture. There are several different types of chiropractic adjustments that may be used to help with headaches, feet discomfort, joint pain, and more.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

Also known as IASTM, this type of therapy can help relieve muscle pain and inflammation. Graston Technique® (GT) is a unique, evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization we use. It involves using the appropriate instrument to help relax the affected muscles and bring down any swelling in the area. The technique also increases blood flow which can help reduce inflammation and increase muscle relaxation.

Hot/Cold Therapy

The use of hot and cold therapy will vary based on the patient’s needs. Heat therapy may be used to decrease muscle spasms, relax tense muscles, alleviate pain, and increase range of motion. Cold therapy can reduce inflammation, muscle spasms, and stimulate the healing process.

Dietary Management

As the ChiroCare of Florida team likes to offer patients overall wellness plans, dietary management may be provided. A nutritious and healthy diet can help with the healing process. Additionally, maintaining a healthy weight can help prevent some back discomfort or joint pain. Our team can help educate you on making healthy choices and create a nutrition plan that benefits you.

Chiropractic care is much more than spinal manipulation. When used in combination, these therapies can exert a beneficial influence on body functions and provide pain relief.
